Our Six Week Stay at Buckley Air Force Base, Aurora, CO

Ted was released from St Anthony Hospital in the Denver area August 25th.  The doctors wanted him to stay in the area for a month to 6 wks to gain his strength and make sure he was stable before heading home to FL. There is not a lot of campgrounds in the Denver area, but the AF base said come on over and we will make sure you have a spot. Thanks to our brother-in-law Gerry and my sister, Jean, for getting our rig down from Elk Creek CG in Grand Lake to the AF base just outside of Denver.  This was our spot for Ted recovery for almost 6 weeks.

The first Monday we were at the famcamp the lawn mowers through up a stone and broke the side window of the motor home.  Neighbors across the street secured the window with duck tape until the repair was completed.

The mowing company at the base had the window replaced for us. Glad their insurance covered the replacement, since was told that it would have been about $1500.

Job well done...

Dr Fabian, Ted's kidney doctor...part of Western Nephrology.

Dr Wieland, infectious disease doctor, with WIDC

Chelsea, Ted's great PT person came twice a week to get him moving...

Anna came weekly to take his blood and change his pick line dressing...

Wendy, also was a frequent visitor to help take Ted's blood and change the pick line dressing.
What a great group of people we had to help Ted with his recovery. Thanks to all of you!!!

Breakfast at the bases Burger King became a tradition.

Ramon, with Horizon Transport, was sent by Sky Med to transport our rig back home to FL. Jan and Ramon did a walk around of the motor home before transport....Ramon picked the rig up on a Wed afternoon and had it in Ocala Saturday afternoon. Even hurricane Matthew didn't slow him down!
