Just off I-40 and northeast of Holbrook, AZ and part of the Petrified Forest Park is the Painted Desert National Monument. It is a 28 mile drive from the Petrified Forest through the Painted Desert. Here's just a few photos that will give you an idea of this desolate but very picturesque area of the country
