Colorado State Chili Cookoff in Grand Lake, CO

This was our 2nd time at the Chili Cook off and was entertaining as ever with music, vendors and lots of Chili tasting!

Two Chili Cook Off couples were parked close to us at Elk Creek Campground..Rick and Karen Thomas from Alto, NM and Doug and Carolyn Seelig from Fredericksburg, TX gave us interesting insights into the competition.

Wayne and Genee Jolliffe from Tucson, AZ, told us about their CHILI cooking adventures!

The fireworks lady was busy collecting money for the 4th of July celebration, but the very dry weather conditions may cause the fire works to be canceled this year.

Grand Lake, Colorado Scenes

A beautiful Saturday afternoon in Grand Lake.  The temperatures in Denver area where hitting 104, but in the mountains the temps were  comfortable in the mid 80s

Historic Grand Lake Lodge has reopened and has cabins to rent and restaurant to enjoy the lake views from.

The Kauffman House was originally one of the first hotels in the area.

There were a lot of folks enjoying the boardwalk and beach area along the edge of Grand Lake.
