A beautiful day on the golf course

Ted is working as a starter/marshall at the Grand Lake Golf Course on his days off for free golf. What a wonderful day in the mountains with temps about 70.

Top of the world on Trail Ridge Road

The Park Service had hoped to open Trial Ridge Road for the Memorial Day Holiday, but continual snow storms kept it closes. It finally opened 2 days ago, so we decided that we need more winter photos.

Elk Creek Camp, where we are working this summer is less than 1/2 mile from the west entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park, one of the oldest US National Parks.

Grand County Colorado Scenes

More of the Colorado Scenery that we encountered while out searching for a "favorite" fishing or picnicing spot.

Berthud Pass-Colorado

We had to make a day trip to Boulder to get the oil changed and a relay replaced on the Jetta. On the way back over Berthud we stopped to shoot a photo of the snow covered Rockies. Lots of spectacular views.

Ain't Lying

Caught 3 large brown and 1 rainbow trout at one of the many Colorado mountain streams. Kept two of the browns, tossed 2 back. Will see if these 15 inch beauties fit on our dinner plate tonight.

Pelicans on Granby Lake

When you think you've seen it all here's a large group of white pelicans relaxing on Granby Lake - elevation 8200 feet above sea level. You can see the Rockies in the distance and the water movememt is one of the sluceways that will hopefully fill the lake. Note that there is lots of shore line so the lake has a ways to go to rise to it's summertime level

Lake Granby Feeder Stream

We drove 11 miles along the shore of Granby Lake and came across this stream that feeds the lake. The snows are starting to melt in the rockies so we think that the lake is starting to come up to it's summertime level. Hope so cause it's pretty low right now.

The Sly Grey Fox

After a quick meal of a mole or field mouse, the grey fox - a daily visitor to our campground - trotted off to see what else was available for a "snack". This fox is such a regular that he just stood there and let me photograph him/her.

A Picture Post Card

An other visit from our friendly moose last night. He was checking out the kids fishing pond at Elk Creek Campground. You can see the beetle kill in the pine trees on the hill side.
