Finally some rain & with it a beautiful full rainbow! 

Jan had a collection of red & white petunias and yellow marigolds in a table planter. We came back to our site and found all of the petunia blooms eaten. To keep the varments away from future blooms it was either get poison, traps, an air rifle or build a hardware cloth cage. You can see what we opted for in this photo. 

From Baker's Bridge, we caught a glimpse of the Durango-Silverton Narrow Gauge Train heading through the mountains towards Silverton. You can see the coal fired engine smoke even when you can't see the train. This sight is just above our KOA - six times a day. 

This is the cliff ( about 40 feet down ) that "Butch", "Sundance" and almost Jan jumped off into the Animas. The water is cold and one 34 year old guy emulated the movie feat and ended up loosing his life. Guess the cold was too much of a shock the newspaper clipping said.

This is Baker Bridge over the Animas River - 12 miles north of Durango. The rock formation in this area was one of the scenes in the movie "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" Paul Newman and Robert Redford - 1962 

It's call the Christ of the Mountains Monument on the side of the mountain above the town of Silverton. It was placed to honor all the miners that lost their life in any of the local mines.

Four nice sized Rainbow Trout - freshly caught at Haviland Lake, Durango, CO. I now have 6 trout on my 61.00 license so you're looking at $40.00 worth of trout. Guess I'll have to catch more to bring the cost down. 

Titanium friends, Ed & Jinny Curtis, from Orlando, FL, visited us at our 2006 Durango North KOA summer home.
