Abshier Blueberry Farm in Belleview, FL Open for the 2015 Season
It was a beautiful Saturday morning for Blueberry picking....
There were lots of folks out for the 1st weekend of the 2015 Blueberry Season and the blueberries did not disappoint.
We picked two gallons +(or 11.7 lbs) and eat a few in the process....
The plants are grown in pine straw and seem to really like their location. Birds are scared away with fire crackers a couple of times an hour.
On our way home went by one of our regular stops for our vegetables and fruits. Their FL blueberries were selling for $4+/pt.
Peter Yarrow of "Peter, Paul and Mary" at OTOW
As a successful artist and activist, Peter Yarrow’s talent is legendary. His gift for songwriting has produced some of the most moving songs Peter, Paul & Mary have recorded, including Puff, The Magic Dragon, Day Is Done, The Great Mandala and Light One Candle. His musical creativity has always gone hand in hand with his commitment to social justice and equity in society
Before his performance, Peter was out front sign autographs and posing for photos...
Unfortunately, the first half of Peter's performance was political commentary, which did not sit well with much of his audience, who thought they had paid to hear the great "Peter, Paul and Mary" songs we grew up with. Instead much of the 1st half was social preaching, So over a 1/3rd of the audience had left by the break. Peter would be wise to tailor his shows more to the audience he is preforming for, since no one at the OTOW show thought they were going to attend a "protest rally".
The 2nd half of the show was much better with more songs and sing-a-longs of favorites....

Jan, Linda and Ed at the Eagles Nest restaurant. Linda and Ed were heading north after their winter in Tampa and stop for a couple of days to visit. They camped with their RV at Grand Lake RV Resort and Golf Course just a few miles north of Ocala.
The RV resort is located on Orange Lake and has a lake side restaurant with good food and interesting views.
Ted and Ed, of course, had a day of golf....
After dinner with Ed and Linda we headed back to OTOW were we caught the last few minutes of a Spring outdoor concert at Circle Square Plaza....
Tuco was with us and the music was a little loud for his liking.....

Manatee Springs State Park and TN Visitors
Manatee Springs State Park is home to one of FL largest freshwater springs. It is an important winter refuge for West Indian manatees. Normally from Nov through Apr, these gentle giants are regular visitors to the spring. This year because of the warm weather the last manatee was seen at the springs March 10th.
The boardwalk takes you out to the Suwannee River, which flows into the Gulf of Mexico...
The manatees in the photo below were taken by Lucy, during a kayaking outing at another location in FL.
Jan with Lucy, our good friend from Kingsport, TN. Lucy with other friends from Kingsport, have spent the last week kayaking different water ways in northern FL.
Through the first magnitude spring in the background between 35 & 150 million gallons of crystal clear water flows every day.
Lucy, Louise and Mike enjoy the boardwalk....
After visiting Manatee Springs SP it was time the Tennessee gang to eat after a long day kayaking in the Chiefland, FL area. "Bill's Bar-B-Q" turned out to be a great choice for refueling.
It was great seeing old friends and hope they will come back next year so we can rendezvous...
