Vietnam Veterans Memorial State Park
The Memorial was constructed from 1968-71 in Angel Fire, NM & was the first major Vietnam memorial in the United States. The Memorial founded by the parents of First Lieutenant David Westphall, who was among sixteen marines killed in an ambush in Con Thien, Vietnam. The grieving Westphalls used David's insurance policies as a catalyst for the construction of the Peace and Brotherhood Chapel.

Creede, CO Memorial Park
On a bike ride into downtown Creede we spotted this very respectful and moving salute to our Veterans. Most noteworthy was the recognition given to the US Merchant Marines. This caught our eye since our son Cameron is a graduate of the US Merchant Marine Academy and served his country as a Merchant Marine. Thank You Creede.
