Chili Cookoff - Grand Lake scenes
A couple of shots at the chile cook off and Jan posing in front of the "Bad to the Bone Chili Booth".
Chili Judging and Hunker Down
The town must have been desperate because they asked Ted to be one of the chili judges. He reluctantly agreed but only to judge the red chili - not the green really hot stuff. This was all part of the Colorado State Chili Championships. They also had a very good and very loud musical group called "Hunker Down".

Had a visit from this rather large bull moose at the campground. Was in the campground for a couple of hours just munching away on the willow buds. Am sure he'll be back throughout the season.

Ted is working as a starter/marshall at the Grand Lake Golf Course on his days off for free golf. What a wonderful day in the mountains with temps about 70.

Trail Ridge Road
Additional photos taken in Rocky Mountain National Park on Trail Ridge Road heading to Estes Park from Grand Lake.
Top of the world on Trail Ridge Road
The Park Service had hoped to open Trial Ridge Road for the Memorial Day Holiday, but continual snow storms kept it closes. It finally opened 2 days ago, so we decided that we need more winter photos.
