Dare Devil Museum

We went to the Dare Devil Museum and gift shop and here we saw this photo of Stephen Trotter and his girlfriend. Trotter went over the falls alone the first time and then he and his girlfriend did it the second time. Wasn't it PT Barnum who said something about one being born every minute. Anyhow he plans a third excursion so I'm sure the local and Canadian cops are keeping a tab on his whereabouts. Below is his "ship".
This is large truck tires lashed together around a styrofoam protective shell and it's on display at this museum. This guy ( and his girlfriend ) is either really gutsy or totally bonkers. Posted by Picasa

Dressed for Niagara Falls

This is how were were dressed to see the falls. This is the pose from the observation platform above and beside the falls
Here's Jan onboard the Maid of the Mist and as you can see, the water is getting her from the falls. These blue panchos were an absolute must but so is getting on board the boat so see the falls from water level. Even with the pancho you can count on getting wet.Posted by Picasa

Niagara Falls, Rainbow Bridge & Maid of the Mist

While the campgrounds in Buffalo were overpriced and over-rated - Niagara Falls was not. We viewed the falls from the American side and they were spectacular. It's hard to imagine that there are idiots ( one guy did it twice and is planning a third event ) that have gone over these falls as "planned events." The $10K fine and jail time would be enough to stop me . You can see one of the boats ( Maid of the Mist ) in the distance - top right of this photo.

Rainbow bridge from the American Side ( R ) to the Canadian side ( L ) requires a passport to get across and into Canada. We viewed it from one of the many locations provided from Niagara Falls park.
There are more than one Maid of the Mist boats that will take you right up to the falls. The blue "items" on the deck are the people all dressed in the provided blue panchos. They are essential as you will get wet.Posted by Picasa

The first and last class of inductees

From the first class in 1936 ( Babe Ruth, Ty Cobb, Christy Mathewson, Walter Johnson and Honus Wagner

Cooperstown Sights

Doubleday Field, just adjacent to the Hall of Fame were baseball was conceived by Abner Doubleday - a career ( MG/USA) military man.

One of the many store fronts with just tons of baseball photos and gear.

Everythings about this town is baseball, including their baseball planters or trash cans. As the season was winding down for the tourists, Jan insisted that I pose behind these two items. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!
