Creede, CO Memorial Park

On a bike ride into downtown Creede we spotted this very respectful and moving salute to our Veterans. Most noteworthy was the recognition given to the US Merchant Marines. This caught our eye since our son Cameron is a graduate of the US Merchant Marine Academy and served his country as a Merchant Marine. Thank You Creede.

Mountain Views RV Resort

The trout were large and biting on the Rio Grande River here in Creede, Colorado. We caught these 12" browns just below where you see the motorhomes parked. Even caught one 18 inch brown but he went back to the river to winter over.

Rio Grande River @ Creede, CO

 .
Five miles out of Creede we found a fishing and photo spot along the Rio Grande River. As you can see from the picture the fall colors in this area are at their peak and the fishing wasn't too bad also.

Creede Mining Museum

Made a short visit to the Creede Mining Museum and took five to catch up on the news inside one of the mining cars. There is talk that because of the price of gold and silver, some of the mines in this area will try and reopen but for now, the only industry in Creede is tourism.

Garden of the Gods

Some scenes from Colorado Springs, Garden of the Gods. This is run by the city of Colorado Springs and is free. Lots of different rock formations, colors and some unique balancing acts - ie note the balancing rock with the roadway going between the rock formation.
