Parking in Canada

I think they call this parallel or off road parking here in Nova Scotia. In the US it's simply called an accident. This happened about 75 feet away from where we were walking the dogs at 11:00PM and nobody was hurt. The car owner had a tow truck to lift him out the shortly after this photo was shot. This is the road directly in front of our camper.... you can see the lobster boat and pier that is just down this road from our rig. Posted by Picasa

Dinner's Almost Ready

The cook, the stove and the kitchen: pretty sweet EH! Ron and Jo's Bounder on the right. We're parked just to the left. What a life!.

Louisbourg Nova Scotia Lighthouse

Jan was bundled up on this cold and windy day, but there were interesting things to see at every turn.

The Bug Room

Ron, Jan and Jo setting up the LaBree Memorial Dining Facility/Bug Room. This little item is a luxury and a necessity if one wants to avoid the black flies that are present in June. They sure can give you a nasty, itchy little bite. You can see one of one of the upper camper row tiers and then Kelly Mountain in the background.Posted by Picasa

View from our Nova Scotia campsite

View of Seal Island Bridge which leads to North Sydney. A lobsterman's marker buoy can be seen to the right of the white birch tree. This lobsterman ties up about 8 minutes walk from where this photo was shot so we'll plan on paying him a visit.Posted by Picasa

Photo of Alexander Graham Bell, inventor of the telephone. He also worked on the iron lung, the hydrofoil ( he had the fastest boat in the world at one time ), and airplanes and he and his father developed a system to teach deaf people to speak. He was tired of life in the US and so he moved his family to Baddeck, Nova Scotia - about 25 miles from our present location. His family/heirs still retain title to the Bell homestead "Beinn Bhreagh"( beautiful mountain ) overlooking Bras d'Or Lake.
